Bradford Bulls have completed the signing of Batley winger Johnny Campbell.
The prolific Championship speedster, who scored 30 tries for the Bulldogs in 2010, has signed a two-year deal with the Bulls as they prepare for another crack at promotion to Super League. He leaves the Bulldogs after six years with the Mount Pleasant squad.
He was banned from playing Rugby League for 12 months in 2014 after being found guilty of breaching the sport’s rules relating to betting.
“I can’t wait to get going at such a massive club – it is going to be good,” said Campbell.
“Turning full-time and using the facilities at the club will do me a world of good. I’m relishing the challenge to come back fit.”
“I bring raw aggression, pace and a good step. I like to play off the front foot and like the open field after a loose ball. That’s where my pace is really effective.
“When I played for Batley against Bradford at Mount Pleasant I played really well and was man of the match.
“Then when Batley played at Odsal I won man of the match again. I played really well and caught the eye.”
