Giants hit by more injury problems after Saints loss

Huddersfield Giants have suffered further injury problems after their opening weekend defeat to St Helens – with two of their key players being withdrawn throughout the Langtree Park loss.

Huddersfield were already without Luke Robinson, Craig Huby, Kyle Wood and Joe Wardle before the game, which they eventually lost 30-16 to the Saints.

To make matters worse, Paul Anderson’s men lost skipper Danny Brough at half-time with a dead leg and then Scott Grix with a dislocated shoulder.

And Anderson conceded that Brough was struggling before he was withdrawn – but insisted his side have to keep their cool so early in the season.

“Losing Danny at half-time did not help and he struggled for the last 10 minutes of the first half.

“We are doing it tough but have to stay calm and composed.”
