INTERVIEW: Michael Carter speaks about Ben Jones-Bishop signing

Wakefield chairman Michael Carter is hoping Ben Jones-Bishop will score 25 tries in the upcoming season.

The Wildcats pulled off the transfer coup after Jones-Bishop was granted a release from his contract at Salford after the arrival of Justin Carney.

Carter was quick to pounce, signing the former Leeds star ahead of the 2016 season.

“He’ll be a tremendous asset for us,” said Carter

“Everyone seems to be delighted that Ben is here. We had a couple of alternatives to Ben but Brian was very, very keen to get Ben over the line. I think that shows the faith that Brian wants to put into Ben.”

In a wide-ranging interview, Carter defended the club’s recruitment policy last year and revealed there is one more signing to be announced.
